Retired! .... plenty of time on my hands! ...Kate in Singapore with little to do during the day! ... Well it seems obvious doesn't it? A quick trip to Singapore to spend time with Kate. But given Kate's predisposition to travel, this somehow transpires to a quick trip to Vietnam. Plans are in place!
Travelled to Singapore on Scoot, which is the budget airline of Singapore Airlines. Rather basic but still ok. You have to buy everything either before or during the flight. The meals were 'type-specimen' airline tucker, but have low expectations and then you are not disappointed. You pay extra for legroom but that's not unusual. No frills... eg no screens on seatbacks or bulkheads so no idea about progress. I managed to score a seat with extra legroom, just behind 'Biz Scoot', so my feet travelled business class.
After a night's sleep, Kate and I walked around Little India
Saw many colourful shops and houses.
... and a 'wet market' selling fish and meat.
Saw a few cows in a park.
Went to a 'hawker' place for lunch with Archie, Kate's old flat mate from London, who is on holidays and travelling through Singapore.
Now we are off to the airport to fly to Vietnam!
